I spotted these boys walking on a local dam as I drove by back in July 2003, so I turned the car around to see what was going on. It was nearly 100 degrees and the mother of one boy had brought them all to the river to have some fun and cool off for the afternoon. It didn't take long after seeing my camera before the boys started showing off with all sorts of neat tricks. They were having a really good time. The "Turtle Soup" idea came from the boys. They said the water, which was warm, frothy, and smelly, reminded them of turtle soup. I'm not sure what turtle soup actually smells like but, if it's anything like the smell I remember from that day, I don't think I care to try it any time soon.
