Slewfoot was born Mark McLaughlin in 1953. He began playing guitar at the age of 13 and in 1980 he started his career as a New Orleans street musician. For this performance, he's playing with drummer Andrew Ross and bass player Paul Edmonds, both from Asheville, NC. The concert took place just a day after the jazz great Brother Yusuf Salim passed away and much of the music was tailored to honor Brother Yusuf. Chris Turner joined the three after a short mid-session break and wailed on the harp as usual.
