Roy “Mel” Melton (aka The Zydeco Chef) is both an accomplished musician and gourmet chef. He also happens to own one of the most interesting and photogenic restaurant/live entertainment venues I've been in. The lighting is gorgeous, the decor is full of interesting treasures tucked away everywhere, and the atmosphere is definitely roadhouse - full of energetic patrons having a great time. To quote Mel from his own website, "When people leave one of our shows or my restaurant, I want them to feel like they’ve been down in the swamp at a big party and they’ve had a great time. That’s what it’s all about.” I'll say, that's exactly what it felt like.
